Both Bowers Ace clung on to win by a nose in the second slowest of the semi-finals. He is a talented greyhound but will find this race a massive step up in class. He prefers to use a bit of the track, and it looks as though he might find trouble from this draw.

Zipping Megatron gets the 2023 winning box, and this boy loves being near the fence. He is in one of NSW’s leading kennels and loves this place. He has 10 wins and four seconds from 14 goes at Wenty, and if he can get away from the red in the early stages and claim the fence, he will be a massive chance.

3. Sunset Frazier
Sunset Frazier has bloomed since coming over from Western Australia, winning the Group 2 Black Top before taking out his semi-final. He has been dwelling at box rise of late and relying on his abundant acceleration to drive through the field, but this is a completely different story. If he can nail the start, however, he has the pace to cross the inside division and get into the mix.

4. Blue Kermaro
Blue Kermaro wasn’t supposed to beat Power And Glory in the semi-finals, but he led all the way and stopped the clock in a quick 29.37. He will need every ounce of that early pace, as the five and six dogs are both good beginners who will look for the fence. If he gets out and misses the outside dogs, Josh Formosa’s runner is definitely a rough hope at big odds with top online bookies.

5. Inconspicuous
Inconspicuous was awkwardly drawn in this very box for his semi-final, but he exploded from the barriers and ran a blistering first section to cross and lead. He has the pace to lead this field again, and if he is first to the first turn, he will be hard to run down.

He destroyed them early in his semi-final, and if he comes out running like he does, he could easily cross this field, jam them up and race away with it.

Explicit should get a clear run to the turn — and that may be the difference.

The West Australian raider will need to be at his brilliant best to ping the lids and cross this exceptional field, but he has the speed and ability to do so and will be at a great price if you fancy him.
