Rockhampton greyhound tips & top value bets – October 18, 2022
We have another Tuesday night meeting this week at Rockhampton to replace our normal Wednesday night program. We have a huge 12-race card to sort through and find some winners, value bets and quaddie selections.
BEST BET: Sisu (Race 10)
The Lindsay McCarthy-trained Sisu (box 3) looks the best bet on this program. This daughter of Konomi has won both of her career starts at Rockhampton. On September 9, she showed good early speed from box four to lead all the way in her maiden race, beating Foxy Sophia clocking 24.03 seconds. Last start, she crossed to the rails early from box eight behind Baby Thor, railed hard and won clocking 24.10 seconds. Tonight, she has a good low draw and should contest the early lead with Tarawi Opal (box 2), who looks the main danger. Suited It (box 1) and Shakey Country (box 5) are normally tardy beginners but can finish off their races well.
Best Bet
Race 10 –
Form: 11 | Career: 2: 2-0-0 | Trainer: Lindsay McCarthy
NEXT BEST: Scandalise (Race 12)
The Neville Jackson-trained Scandalise (box 3) looks the next best bet on the program. This daughter of the great Barcia Bale drops back to a suitable M5 grade race tonight. Lately, she has finished midfield in stronger 4th and 5th grade races behind the likes of Chips In, Mia Magic and Black Delight. On paper, there does not appear to be a lot of early speed so she should be able to hold a good early position from her good low draw and be too strong for this field. Dusty Country (box 7) and Until Late (box 8) look to be the main dangers from their suitable wide draws.
Next Best
Race 12 –
Form: 414543 | Career: 83: 6-11-22 | Trainer: Neville Jackson
BEST VALUE: Kahuna Beach (Race 9)
The Andrew Suli-trained Kahuna Beach (box 6) looks the value bet on the program. Last Wednesday we made this son of the great Fernando Bale our next best bet when he beat Shakey Country from box three. He is currently showing good early speed and is in the best form of his short career. Tonight, he could cross this field early and be the greyhound to run down. Main dangers look to be Saron (box 5), Paddy Harks (box 4) and Toyko Dreamer (box 1). Those three greyhounds can miss the start on occasions, but they can finish off well late in their races.
