Rockhampton greyhound tips & value bets | Tuesday, August 9
We are back to another Tuesday night meeting at Rockhampton, replacing the standard Wednesday program and we have a huge 12 race program to sort through. Let us warm your night up with some good bets along with our quaddie selections.
BEST BET: GURU BART (Race 3)
Tonight, we can get a bank early with the Steven Boody-trained Guru Bart (box 2). This son of Keybow has found a suitable novice race. Last start, he finished third behind Excellent Work down the grass straight track at Capalaba, clocking a respectable 20.14 seconds. Previous start, he had a duel with undefeated and promising White Like Snow, only to be beaten by a small margin. He has a good low draw and should be all to lead all the way. The only danger looks to be the Darren Taylor trained Ninetymile Bull (box 1). He won when making his racing debut but would need to post better times to beat Guru Bart.

NEXT BEST: ERSKIN BOY (Race 9)
The Andrew Suli-trained Erskin Boy (box 2) looks the next best bet on the program. This son of Don't Knocka Him drops back to a winnable 5th grade race. He has been placed in his last three starts at Rocky in stronger 4th grade races. He has been showing good early speed and has a good low draw. On paper, there does not look to be many greyhounds with early speed so he could lead all the way. Main dangers look to be Paddy Harks (box 1) who has the best box draw but does not win many races (only 2 wins from 22 career starts) and Foxy One (box 5) who has a tricky middle draw to contend with.

BEST VALUE BET: ZIPPING RAVEN (Race 11)
The Clinton Thompson-trained Zipping Raven (box 5) looks the value bet for the program. This daughter of Zulu Zeus is back in good form. She has finished second at her last two starts at Rocky. Last start, she was beaten by the unbeaten White Like Snow clocking a good 23.88 seconds. A repeat of that run would see her winning this race. She can show good early speed and has noted slow beginners drawn outside of her. Main dangers look to be Suited It (box 1) who will appreciate wearing the red rug and Easy Eddie (box 4) who showed good early speed at her debut start at Rocky.
