Rockhampton greyhound tips & value bets | Wednesday, August 3
As we move into the last winter month for 2022 and look forward to some warmer spring days and nights, we have a huge 12 race program to sort through at Rockhampton on Wednesday night. Let us warm your night up with some good bets along with our quaddie selections.
BEST BET: WHITE LIKE SNOW (Race 11)
We will need to be patient and wait until the penultimate race on this program to find the best bet, that being the Ken Boody-trained White Like Snow (box 2). This daughter of Keybow has won all three career starts. Last start, she had a successful duel with Guru Bart when making her Rockhampton debut. The duo went head for head most of the race with White Like Snow having to work outside of Guru Bart but they still clocked a good 24.04 seconds. This is not a strong 5th grade race and should be able to break the 24 seconds tonight. From her good low draw, she should be able to hold a good early position and keep her winning record intact.
Best Bet
Race 11 –
Form: 111 | Career: 3: 3-0-0 | Trainer: Ken Boody
NEXT BEST: MAMBA TWO FOUR (Race 12)
The Christine Pollard-trained Mamba Two Four (box 1) looks the next best bet on the program. Tonight, this son of the great Barcia Bale is wearing the red rug and has found a winnable master's race. He has been placed in his last four starts in master class races, clocking just over 24 seconds in each run. Those times should see him winning this race. He is not a quick beginner, but can take advantage of this great low draw and position himself just behind the early speed. Expect him to put the afterburners on down the back straight and go on to score another win.
Next Best
Race 12 –
Form: 643322 | Career: 47: 8-11-11 | Trainer: Christine Pollard
BEST VALUE BET: EXIT PLAN (Race 9)
The Clinton Thompson-trained Exit Plan (box 7) looks the value bet for the program. Castaway Girl (box 2) should be an early scratching after she won a 5th grade race at Rockhampton last Saturday. This now looks a winnable race for Exit Plan who is currently in good form without winning lately. In his past two starts, he has finished second behind Velocity Cazau from box six and Mia Magic from box seven. The main danger looks to be First Slip (box 4) which is trained by Clinton's wife Juanita but it has only won one race from fifteen starts at this track and distance.
