Race 7: Venice Bale (1)
Since winning at this track and trip three starts ago, Venice Bale has run over the middle distance at Albion Park and Ipswich as part of leading Rockhampton trainer Ken Boody's travelling entourage. In both those races, she jumped from box eight and had little luck. She will appreciate stepping back to her home track and, most importantly, jumping from box one. She doesn't have the speed to contest the lead; however, she will be saving ground towards the inside. Expect Exquisite to find the top and leave the fence open turning for home, allowing Venice Bale to shoot through and win.

Race 5: Flat Broke (1)
Flat Broke has had no luck in his past two starts over this track and trip, being checked heavily early in the piece. Three starts ago he won in 23.75 from box eight while showing brilliant box speed. With Lucky Garcia drawn outside him, he will get clear running early in a race riddled with dogs who need a solo lead to show their best. Expect Flat Broke to lead and prove hard to run down.

Race 6: Tijuana Twinkle (4)
Ken Boody appears to have a big opinion of Tijuana Twinkle, with her debut coming in a heat of the Vince Curry Memorial. She has had no luck with boxes having drawn box eight twice, both resulting in first-corner wipeouts. She will enjoy returning to her home track and has a vacant box outside. If she can begin as well as she did last start, she can get across the wide-running Burrum Betty and contest the lead. If the price is right, we are happy to speck.
