Wentworth Park preview

1 racing returns to this Saturday night with the time-honoured Peter Mosman Opal and Vic Peters Classic sharing top billing on a 10-race card. There is also a quality non-graded race where the champion She's A Pearl will go around again, as well as a great masters race where a trio of Michelle Sultana's top-class will do battle with . As always, we will try to find you a winner or two.

Peter Mosman Opal Final – Miss Mcgraw

may well quinella this race with Miss Mcgraw and . Whoever is in front going through the catching pen the first time probably runs away with it, and we're leaning Miss Mcgraw. She had the awkward box seven in the heats and moves into the perfect box two for the final. Bella Una has the speed and ability to hold her out and could well hold the fence and lead. Don't dismiss Nangar Lucy and , who were both having their first looks at Wenty under race conditions in the heats and will improve on their runs.

Vic Peters Classic Final – Zipping Remus

Zipping Remus is six wins and two placings from eight starts on the track and in the heats he broke their hearts and the clock, beginning beautifully and running one of the fastest times at Wenty since the Easter carnival. He is two from two from the red rug and with the moderate beginning Be In Touch on his outside, it sets up for him to get room early, lead easily and try to break the clock again. used box two perfectly in the heats but won't get that luxury from the six. Al's Entity showed good pace and could battle for the lead; last week was his first look at Wenty, so he could be the value.

Best bet at Wentworth Park – Tiggerlong Car (Race 3)

Kevin Keys has this girl humming along beautifully. She had a slight hiccup last start here when she stepped up into fourth and fifth grade and was vying for the lead at the first turn four wide before getting dragged down. She drops back into a straight fifth-grade race that only has moderate early pace in it. She is used to outside boxes having had 20 starts from the seven and eight boxes in her career, and races well from out wide. If she can just begin better than Agent Nevada in box eight, should lead this race and, with a good 29.8 personal best, will prove extremely hard to run down.

Best value at Wentworth Park – Sonia Keeping (Race 1)

If this girl doesn't get a start in the Group 1 Peter Mosman, where she is the first reserve, she will represent great value in the opening race on the card. She is progressing nicely and has been stringing together an impressive series of placings in good races without managing to get a win since joining Chris Green's kennel. She will be giving some of these a head start, which is always a concern around Wenty; however, in a race that doesn't look like it will break any speed records, if Sonia can just get an ounce of luck and find a position in the run to the first turn, she just may be too strong for these.

Best Value

Race 1 – Silk (4)
