The first heat is a cracker with the reigning Melbourne Cup champion Dyna Villa taking on up and coming star Fernando Bale. It’s hard to look past Dyna Villa, he is making his debut here but he is pretty faultless at box rise and if he finds the early lead it’s hard to see anything reeling him in.
Fernando Bale is the real deal and he last time out at The Meadows he turned in a devastating performance when scoring in a blistering 29.71. He has won three on the trot and on each occasion he has improved by at least four lengths on the clock. He is still learning the caper but he has tremendous speed and if he handles the track he can test the favourite.
Ella Has Class has scored some great wins here of late but she meets some super talented chasers tonight and her chances look limited to the placings.
Musquin Bale has been a great campaigner for a long time and if he gets across he can make an impact.
Top Four: 4 – 3 – 8 – 1
Suggested Bets:
Win bet on Dyna Villa
Trifecta: 3,4/3,4/Field ($12 for 100%)
Exacta: 4/1,3,8 ($3 for 100%)
1st: $5,450 2nd: $1,550 3rd: $775.

Chica Destacada returns to her favourite track and with an even getaway she should make light work of this lineup. She has won nine of 17 here and she consistently runs sub 5.45 to the first marker, there is very little speed drawn on her outside so she should get every chance to find the bunny early.
Iva Vision won the shootout at Sandown in November and he is capable of running some serious time when given a clear run, he posted an average 29.93 in a trial here last week but that was his first look at the track and I would expect him to show a lot of improvement.
Ikaku Bale is a member of a highly promising litter and he is getting better with every run, this is a big rise in class but he has the talent to be a factor.
Cosmic Angel has a sizzling 29.62 PB here and if he can cross from the wide draw he can make an impact, he is better suited to a rails draw but he has raced well from wide draws in recent weeks.
Top Four: 3 – 1 – 7 – 8
Suggested Bets:
Win bet on Chica Destacada
Trifecta: 3/1,7,8/Field ($18 for 100%)
Trifecta: 1,3/1,3/Field ($12 for 100%)
Quinella: 3 to rove with 1,7,8 ($3 for 100%)
1st: $5,450 2nd: $1,550 3rd: $775.

Very open affair but I think track specialist Rue De Kahn can cross and get the job done. She had been struggling for a while but in recent weeks she has turned in some great efforts at Gosford with her latest effort being a top placing in the Gosford Cup Final. I tend to think she races better here and although she is a keen railer, the wide draw shouldn’t pose too many problems.
Winsome Jacko is an enormous talent and he really impressed when scoring here in a blistering 29.61 four runs back, the draw is a big concern tonight but if he can settle in the top three as they head for the back straight he should be in the finish.
Buckle Up Mason is a classy veteran and he is still racing well, he has the speed to hold them out early and if he does he will give them something to catch.
Top Four: 7 – 5 – 2 – 3
Suggested Bets:
Win bet on Rue De Kahn
Exacta: 5,7/2,3,5,7 ($6 for 100%)
Quinella: 7 to rove with 2,3,5 ($3 for 100%)
Trifecta: 7/2,3,5/Field ($18 for 100%)
1st: $6,000 2nd: $1,700 3rd: $850.

First heat for the stayers and I think we can find some value with the classy Queenslander Mullaway. He didn’t have much luck in his debut here and he looked a little strange to the track, with that run under his belt he should handle the turns a lot better. He has scored some devastating wins at Albion Park and if he can settle in the top two he will put on quite a show.
Starc is much better than his recent form reads and he is drawn to get a nice sit behind Kiltah Magic in the early stages, he is quite strong in the run home and if he handles the track he should figure in the finish.
Zipping Rory has the class edge and he loves racing here, he can be hard to follow but if he pings away they won’t know which way he went.
Stargate System continues to improve and he is capable of running home into a place.
Top Four: 7 – 2 – 4 – 5
Suggested Bets:
Win bet on Mullaway
Boxed Quinella: 2,4,5,7 ($6 for 100%)
Exacta: 2,4,7/2,4,5,7 ($9 for 100%)
Trifecta: 7/2,4,5/Field ($18 for 100%)

Star Tassie chaser Buckle Up Wes looks well placed in the pink and he looks set to make a big impact. He appeared to be a tad disappointing at Hobart last time but he only went down by a length and they did post a very quick time in that event. Tonight he returns to a track where he has won four of eight and has a blistering 29.56 PB.
My Boy Snoop returned to his brilliant best with a devastating 29.27 Gosford win last time and in that event, the brilliant Anything Less had every chance to reel him in. The draw is against him tonight but if he gets room to muster he will prove very hard to hold out.
Kiss Me Ketut has been racing in consistent fashion and he has the speed to lead, he is a couple of lengths off his best but this heat isn’t overly strong.
Spring Leaf is flying at present but she is having her first look at the track, so she will need plenty of luck at the first bend.
Winsome Mission is an exciting prospect and he must obviously be respected, I’m a little worried about the box draw though as I think he may get posted wide for most of the trip.
Top Four: 8 – 5 – 2 – 1
Suggested Bets:
Trifecta: 8/1,2,5/Field ($18 for 100%)
Trifecta: 2,5,8/1,2,5,8/1,2,4,5,7,8 ($36 for 100%)
1st: $6,000 2nd: $1,700 3rd: $850.

The second stayers heat sees the up and coming Space Star take on a fairly mediocre bunch. From the pink draw he should be able to drive across to the early lead and he has proven in the past that he is capable of reeling off breathtaking sectionals when he lands on the bunny.
Zipping Maggie loves racing over this track and trip and if she pings away she should match motors with Space Star for quite a while, I dont think she has the brilliance to go with him mid race so the quinella spot looks best for her.
Flying Twist is a consistent stayer and she has enough speed to settle in the first half of the field, she will need some luck early but if the favourite makes a mistake she could be there to capitalise.
Top Four: 8 – 3 – 5 – 4
Suggested Bets:
Trifecta: 8/3,4,5/Field ($18 for 100%)
Exacta: 3,8/3,4,5,8 ($6 for 100%)
Quinella: 8 to rove with 3,4,5 ($3 for 100%)
1st: $5,450 2nd: $1,550 3rd: $775.

This is probably the best race of the night, we have Dyna Double One who is probably the most talented chaser in the land taking on the champ Allen Deed who smashed the Meadows track record last time out. I’m going to give Dyne Double One the edge, I know he is still young and very inexperienced but his effort last time out when placed in the Silver Chief Final was enormous and he appears drawn to get a clear run tonight. If he handles the track it will be interesting to see what he does on the clock.
Allen Deed is flying at present and his effort when smashing the Meadows track record was stunning. He is going to need some luck as they head into the first turn but I would love to see him land behind Dyna Double One as they head for the back straight.
Oakvale Destiny was unlucky not to win the Cranbourne Cup last time out and if the favourites happen to make some mistakes she can cause an upset.
Midnight Flynn is a promising speedster and he is drawn to give a nice sight, he isn’t overly strong so he will need to hold them out early to score.
Top Four: 7 – 4 – 2 – 1
Suggested Bets:
Win bet on Dyna Double One
Exacta: 2,4,7/1,2,4,7 ($9 for 100%)
Trifecta: 7/1,2,4/Field ($18 for 100%)
1st: $5,450 2nd: $1,550 3rd: $775.

I am a massive fan of Anything Less and I think he is well placed in this event. He is going to settle in the back half of the field but this race features quite a few front runners who fold up in the closing stages. If he can avoid bother early he should be able to get into some open space and make a strong move mid race and I would then expect him to run over the top in the final stages.
Jewel Action has the good draw and she should hold them out early, she isn’t very strong in the final 30m but she does have a great record here and has she has posted a sizzling 29.66 here in the past.
Dyna Vikkers is a full brother to Dyna Double One and he is a super talent in his own right. Last time out at the Meadows he smashed his rivals when scoring in a smart 30.04.
Winsome Prince will start favourite and it’s hard to knock a dog who has won 14 of 15 starts, however he was a tad disappointing when winning here last week and I think he is under the odds.
Top Four: 6 – 1 – 3 – 4
Suggested Bets:
Win bet on Anything Less
Trifecta: 6/1,3,4/Field ($18 for 100%)
Trifecta: 1,6/1,6/Field ($12 for 100%)
Exacta: 1,6/1,3,4,6 ($6 for 100%)
1st: $5,450 2nd: $1,550 3rd: $775.

Whittaker has been racing well here of late and I think he can get the better of the likely favourite Are Jip. He is only an average beginner but he does muster speed quickly and with the two and three likely to run cover for him early he should be able to zip away off the back straight.
Izzey Bale is a promising Victorian speedster and he set the track alight when winning at Warrnambool last time in 25.11, if he can handle the first turn he will give the red a run for his money.
Are Jip has a ridiculous amount of talent but he is desperate to get wide and from box three he is likely to find bother.
Army Surplus is an interesting runner, he isn’t very reliable but when he does ping and find the lure early he is capable of running very quick sectionals.
Top Four: 1 – 2 – 3 – 7
Suggested Bets:
Win bet on Whittaker
Trifecta: 1,2/1,2/Field ($12 for 100%)
Trifecta: 1/2,3,7/Field ($18 for 100%)
Quinella: 1 to rove with 2,3,7 ($3 for 100%)
1st: $5,450 2nd: $1,550 3rd: $775.

Final chance to advance in the series and classy Victorian chaser Dyna Yemen looks poised to make an impact. His recent form isn’t great but he hasn’t been experiencing a lot of luck in his most recent efforts and with a slow beginner drawn on his outside I think he will get a chance to regain some confidence. He has scored some blistering wins in his brief career to date and if he holds them out he will make onlookers take notice.
Ritza Hattie is all class and she returned to the winners list last time out when capturing the Gosford Cup final, she exits the same draw tonight and she has a tremendous record here. She will need to cross the red to win but if she doesn’t she looks a safe quinella prospect.
Farmer’s Gold is very hit or miss early but he is well drawn nearer the inside and he should get a nice sit early, I dont think he can win but he must be included in your exotic bets.
Top Four: 1 – 8 – 2 – 3
Suggested Bets:
Win bet on Dyna Yemen (currently $5 fixed, enormous over’s)
Quinella: 1 to rove with 2,3,8 ($3 for 100%)
Trifecta: 1/2,3,8/Field ($18 for 100%)
Trifecta: 1,8/1,8/Field ($12 for 100%)
Trifecta: 1,2/1,2/Field ($12 for 100%)
