Wentworth Park Saturday betting tips – December 16, 2023
The lead-up to Christmas is in full swing at Wentworth Park this Saturday night with a 10-race card set to begin 7:11pm local time. The final of the Group 3 Christmas Gift headlines the program, well supported by the top stayers in the state going head-to-head in the Christmas Cheer Final. Here are Australian Racing Greyhound’s Wentworth Park betting tips for December 16.
Race 6: Ritza Piper (2)
This girl won the Group 1 Topgun Stayers at The Meadows before losing by a length in the heat and final of the Group 1 Bold Trease at Sandown two weeks ago. She went home to The Gardens for a hitout last week and destroyed a decent field. She is the in-form stayer in the country at the moment and can really turn it on when she finds the front. She should lead this field, and if she does, it might be a long 720m for some of the chasers.

Race 2: Zadie Bale (3)
This girl was disappointing as race favourite here last start, but her two previous runs were exceptional. She broke the 30-second mark in both of those wins and beat handy fields as well. She should lead this race and it will be interesting to see how she goes, as she is usually impossible to beat when on the bunny. Zadie Bale has two wins and two placings from six starts in the white rug and has missed the places only twice in 18 starts since moving from Melbourne.
Race 2: Mr Yellowstone (2)
This boy is a determined chaser who often does a thing or two wrong in his races, but his best-of-night win in 29.8 last week suggests he is heading in the right direction. While he will need a touch of luck against a top-quality field, his record shows he knows how to win. Mr Yellowstone is the second-youngest dog in the race and the one that is still on his way up, so he worth backing up — especially at the prices the top bookmakers are offering.
