Calleen Whisper Is Temora’s Greyhound Of The Year

held its last meeting before Christmas in heavy rain with the heats of the 5th grade 457 Blue Paws being the major race and the presentation of the trophies for the year.

The first race saw some first starters and some new dogs from Victoria and Queensland having their first start on the track.

With an even start, on the bend Overhead took the lead until the home straight only to see Hey Darl take over the lead and go on to win for Mat Stevhen of Queensland with Overhead second and third was Theresa's Joy in the time of 18.31.

Sid Foote takes out the Max Derrick Stakes with Le Grande who led all the way in 26.51 from Brady's Wish and Walkabout Bird.

gave all of the others a hiding in the Ellis Breust Painting Stakes. He is trained by Scott Parry of Wagga and won in 18.00 with Let's Go Speedy and He Who Nose filling the places a long way back.

The first heat of the Blue Paws saw a rough race with a mix up coming to the first bend to let Arguing Jake through to take up the lead and hang on to win for Rodney McDonald of Cowra with Kirby Lane and Miss Enforcer filling the places in 26.51.

Race five being the Nice Products Stakes saw six of the eight fighting for the lead around the bend and into the straight with getting home the best to take first for Leonard Sargood with Haydo's Ado and Coota Jack filling the places close behind in 18.23.

The second heat of the Blue Paws went to the Rodney McDonald trained Dana Cuzzy from the fast finishing Tayotae and Golden Ruby third in 26.24. Mick Niele of Victoria took out the Swanky Park Stakes with Bowstreet Rogue in 18.44 from Broke and Swanky Swan who filled the places.

Next was the presentation of the clubs award winners. Winner of the first quarter was for Huck and . Second quarter was Swanky Chin for Donna Widdows. Calleen Whisper trained by Clay Butler and Swanky Pumpkin trained by Donna Widdows tied for the third quarter. The last quarter was taken out by She Won't Panick who is trained by Cherryl Bradley.

The Branch Dog went to Swanky Chin with runner up being Dreamline Boy.

Donna Widdows took out the Trainer of the Year and , the Owner/Trainer of the Year.

Greyhound Of The Year Calleen Whisper with Toby Blunt & Clay Butler

The Owner of the Year went to and last, The Greyhound of the Year went to the Toby Blunt and Clay Butler owned Calleen Whisper. In the presentation, Clay and Toby both thanked the Branch and Club and were pleased and honoured to receive the award with Clay thanking Toby for all of his help through out the year.

Frida Bale took out the Ag-N-Vet Stakes for Sean Bannerman in a good run from Swanky Rick and who filled the places in 18.13.

The Cornford's Hardware, being the last race, went to Idle Asset from Victoria and is trained by C Perry with M Adams running home well for second and Sunlit Maclaw third in an excellent 17.89.
