Thursday night at , “Team Rasmussen” took out another feature final with taking the accolades after Cawbourne Hunter caused a minor upset when he proved too good for his rivals leading throughout in the 2019 Final.

The son of Swift Fancy and Cawbourne Ottey began brilliantly from his wide box 7 and blistered to front in the early stages. Race favourites Road Travelled (box 3) for Steven Brook and Canya Chase (box 4) for both began well and pushed forward however both found trouble on the first turn affecting their chances and many of the other rivals.

Down the back straight and Cawbourne Hunter was in full flight after avoiding any trouble and opened up a race winning lead. Road Travelled got going again and chased hard along with Canya Chase which got to second and third but the race appeared over. Turning for home and Cawbourne Hunter kept going and went on to win by 2.5 lengths from Road Travelled which ran a bold race after trouble and Canya Chase back in third again getting home hard. Cawbourne Chase ran a slick 29.97 for the 515m journey with splits of 4.44 and 16.79.

Cawbourne Chase owned by from NSW has now won 8 races with 7 placings from 18 starts with career prizemoney just over $15,000.

Greyhound Racing South Australia () introduced the Kings and Queens Feature series three years ago in support of those greyhounds affected by the change to the GCA Age Restricted Classics from 30 months back down to 27 months for this year upcoming and series to be run next Thursday night. Based around the support of this series it is likely to continue on the race calendar in its own right for years to come.
