Chevy King crowned the New Sensation
DESPITE being sent to the boxes as a $20 chance, Chevy King stamped himself as one of the most exciting pups in the state with a strong win in Saturday night’s Group 3 New Sensation (520m) at Wentworth Park.
The black dog began well from box seven and carved across to take the lead around the first turn, kicking clear ahead of Rohan Hill (box one) which was unable to stay intact with the lamplighter throughout the remainder of the race.
At the finish Chevy King charged to the line to score by two and three quarter lengths in a fast 29.78.
Trained by Christine and Alan Proctor and owned by Michael Manuel, Chevy King has now won seven of his 17 starts with an additional six minor placings.
Rohan Hill stuck on well to finish second, whilst race favourite Patch Adam (box three) ran an enormous race after missing the start to fill the trifecta back in third.
