WA stayer Chloe Ant won the 2024 3 for trainer Enzo Crudeli on Saturday night, April 20, at , getting up in the shadows of the post to claim victory in a photo finish.

The Miata, formerly known as the Distance Gift, was renamed after the champion WA stayer, Miata, after she won the race twice, in 2012 and 2013.

Greyhound punters had sent Chloe Ant to the boxes as a +1090 chance with greyhound bookmakers, with West On Nugget, the +110 race favourite.

While race favourite, West On Nugget missed the start, Chloe Ant was able to settle in to second early behind tearaway leader and second favourite Argyle Queen (+350).

Westo On Nugget was able to work his way into third place in the run, but by the home corner, it was evident that he was not going to be able to reel in Argyle Queen and Chloe Ant.

Well into the home straight, it was apparent that Argyle Queen's front-running effort was beginning to show, and she began to tire and wobble off the fence.

As the run presented itself in the shadows of the finishing post, Chloe Ant dove through along the rail to prevail in a photo finish by the barest of margins.

The daughter of and Bionic Black Ant won the Group 3 $30,000 to-the-winner title by 0.13 lengths in 42.22.

Argyle Queen finished second, while West On Bonnie had to settle for third, 1.5 lengths from the winner.
