Quick Smart grabs the lead in the 2023 Group 3 final at Cannington and gives nothing else a chance.

The aptly named Quick Smart took out the 2023 Group 3 Paradise Street Trophy at Cannington on Saturday night, winning the $25,000 to-the-winner first prize over the 600m distance.

Trained by , Quick Smart gave nothing else a chance in the feature Group 3 race, leading quickly from box eight, and dominating the race.

Couch Surfer railed home hard late to grab second, and give Halse a feature race quinella.

Bred and owned by Rob Britton, Quick Smart is by out of , which makes the dog a litter brother to east coast group race performers and Wheel And Go.

Quick Smart won through to the Paradise Street Trophy final winning his heat last week in 34.87, just 0.02 outside the best of the night; and the quickest of the three Paradise Street Trophy heats.

As fastest qualifier, greyhound punters kept the black dog's chances safe in greyhound betting odds, sending him to the boxes as the +240 equal favourite on greyhound betting apps with Halse's other dog, Couch Surfer.

Beginning quickly from box eight, Quick Smart was able to race up outside Clifton Cruz and in the run through the first corner, before delivering a ‘hip and shoulder' to Clifton Cruz that put paid to both his and Nangar Chief's winning chances.

Nangar Chief did well to balance up again and had second place nailed down throughout the race until a late rails run allowed Couch Surfer to deliver Halse the Paradise Street Trophy quinella.
