Numbers Down But Quality Up At SA Coursing
Coursing continued as it started – cold and blustery but NO rain much to participants enjoyment.
With an 11-race program, we got underway after the Annual General Meeting. The usual stalwarts were returned to committee – Judi Hurley, Kathy Hurley and Steve Coates.
A highlight of the AGM was the presentation to Kathy Hurley of Life Membership. Kathy has worked tirelessly for many years – serving food, babysitting, making presentation rugs and just generally being of major assistance to all – Congratulations Kathy!
Ben Rawlings returned with Dolmar but had to wait until Race 10 to run fastest of the day – with a 15.19 in his first run and 15.09 in the final when he defeated Kato. Emerley Magik made it two in a row for Todd Kelly when winning the GOTBA Novice Stake in 15.32. Hilltop Snow also made it two in a row for newcomer, Tina Cattermole, when running 15.25.
Remember, as we no longer clash with Gawler, it has been resolved that we will start 30 minutes later viz. earbrands/vet checking at 8.30 – 9.00 am with racing commencing at 9.30am. The next meeting is scheduled for Sunday 19 May – all grades catered for and 4-dog fields will continue for the time being.
