Team Greenoug celebrating after Epitomize claims the Group 1 Silver Chief Classic Final at The Meadows in 29.75.

Epitomize showcased blistering speed and precision to capture his first Group 1 title in the Silver Chief Final at The Meadows on Saturday night.

The young sprinter, trained by rising star Bradley Greenough, seized control from box eight with an electric 5.02-second first split, setting the tone for his commanding victory.

In a tightly contested race, Epitomize surged ahead down the back straight, fending off a strong challenge from Deadly Avenger, the bookmaker favorite from box two.

Epitomize maintained his momentum in the final stages, crossing the line in an impressive 29.75 seconds at $4.60 odds with Picklebet

Defeating Deadly Avenger by 0.75 lengths, while Giacomo rounded out the placings in third, finishing 3.5 lengths behind the winner.

“It’s a dream to win a Group 1,” said Greenough post-race.

“It’s a surreal feeling, and I knew he could run time – we are very proud of him.”

Epitomize’s victory marks a significant milestone for both the trainer and his owner, Greg Sprod.

The son of Black Magic Opal and Promote has now won nine of his 11 career starts, with total prize money of $141,360.

Greenough credited Sprod and their longstanding partnership for the triumph, highlighting their success with past champions like Wow She’s Fast.

“We owe everything to them,” Greenough said.

“They treat us very well, and this is the least we could give them.”

Deadly Avenger, trained by George Borg, put in a valiant effort but fell short of Epitomize’s high-speed finish. Giacomo, prepared by Jeffrey Britton, ran a solid race to secure third place, while Paw Qwan and Paw Vortex filled the minor placings.

Epitomize’s performance adds his name to an elite list of champions and cements his status as a star in the making.

With a near-perfect record and outstanding finishing times across multiple tracks, Epitomize continues to impress.

With the likelyhood of aiming for The Temlee in February, Epitomize is currently $16 odds with Neds bookmaker.
