Female Trainers To The Fore Out At Kempsey

In front of good sized crowd and with perfect weather, it was the ladies who took the honours and bragging rights with and Dawn Lynch scoring doubles and Megan-lee Mason and Debra Spurgin getting winners also.

The feature events for the day were heats of the Roy Carrol Memorial. Debbie Winters looked to have a strong hand in the heats and it was no surprise to see her take out two of the heats firstly with Watch the Valley, who ran a fast 20.52 scoring by 6 1/4 lengths from Batti Bomber.

The second leg of her double came with Dancharay who took out the final heat, running the fastest of the heats in 20.42.

Other heat winners were Dawn Lynch's with Little Lou Lou, who continued Dawn's great run of late when she raced away, scoring by 7 1/2 lengths from She'll Be Apples in a time of 20.73.

Detective Eames for who has been knocking on the door scored in the last heat in a time of 21.08 to beat the unlucky Rough Seas by 1 3/4 lengths.

Race 5 of the day and Dawn Lynch brought up her double when Highway Mitzee who is absolutely flying at present scored in a sizzling 20.29 from who ran a great race to finish 5 3/4 lengths behind the winner.

Race 6 saw the trained return to form scoring by 3/4 length in 30.67 from .

Race 7 and Frank Hand with Sammy Cool gave her rivals no chance when she raced away with the event in a fast 20.46 from .

Race 8 a 508m for 5th graders and Debra Spurgin's Let's Do It brought off a good old fashion plunge when she came from the clouds to beat Bush Bandit, who looked the winner half way down the straight.

Race 9 saw Who's a Punk all the way from Cessnock score for Megan-lee Mason when he led throughout to just beat Cool Shamar.

Race 10 and for Roger O'Neill who looked one of the best bets of the day gave his rivals a galloping lesson scoring in 30.48 from Settle Petal who ran her usual honest race.

Race 11 who rarely leaves a meeting without a winner, kept up the record when won in a time of 20.54 from the heavily backed Former Leigh.

Race 12 saw Mulwee Bye for Sabrina Brown score in a good time of 20.54 from the well backed Dame Gain. Kempsey's next meeting will be staged on the 23rd August where the final of the Roy Carroll will be the feature.
