Frank Daros Claims NSW’s Third Anabolic Steroid Positive Swab

News has just come to hand of New South Wales third positive swab to and again the swab has shown in a male greyhound.

Remarkably, the trainer admitted to of the Anabolic Steroid “” by his vet Dr E Humphries, not two days after the Anabolic Steriod ban come in to force on July 1st 2008.

On September 20th 2008, Stewards finalised an inquiry into the positive finding of in the urine sample taken from the appropriately named greyhound at on the 23rd July, 2008.

Mr. Frank Daros the registered Trainer of In Hindsight was required to attend the inquiry and advised the stewards that he had presented the greyhound to his Veterinary Dr. E. Humphries on the 2nd July, 2008 where it was injected with the Anabolic Steroid Deca 50.

Remarkably, the administration of the Anabolic Steroid to In Hindsight came just one day after the new ban of all Anabolic Steroids in male greyhounds.

Mr. Frank Daros pleaded guilty to a breach of Rule 83(2)(a) which provides that the owner, trainer or person in charge of a greyhound nominated to compete in an Event shall present the greyhound free of any drug.

GHRRA Stewards disqualified Mr Daros for a period of five(5) months, taking in to account that any penalty imposed must act as a deterrent, that Mr Daros pleaded guilty, that Mr Daros had a prior good record in the industry spanning 38 years involvement and that the steroid was found in a male greyhound.

In Hindsight was also disqualified from its winning run in Race 3 at the Bulli meeting on the 23rd July 2008.
