Happy Haswell The Pace Setter In Flying Amy Classic Heats

Up and comer Happy Haswell sent out a warning to rivals that he is the one to beat in the final of the listed Flyng Amy Classic, winning the third and final heat in the fastest time of 30.15.

The heats were also highlighted by the fact that Patrick Estate mentor Peter Ruetschi not only three runners for next Thursday's final, but they are also all from the same litter. You Say So, Give You Credit and You Can Talk are all from the Outa Credit – Where Are You ( – Duel's Me Mum) litter and will see Ruetschi with a strong hand in the $15,000 to-the-winner event next week.

Happy Haswell is a trained son of and Teenage Dream ( – Size ‘Em Up) and he did not have things all his own way, but showed class beyond his experience to win his fifth race from just six starts against much more experienced dogs.

Beginning third from box one, the 31kg dog mustered to second along the fence by the post the first time before copping some slight interference leaving the straight. He managed to hold down second and was in pursuit of early leader My Fantaziya (6) who opened up a four length break.

Happy Haswell claimed My Fantaziya on the home turn and roared away in the straight to score by 2 1/4 lengths on the line from the fast finishing Give You Credit, with You Can Talk (5) in third place.

Earlier, Nala's Heart ran on well to take out the first heat in 30.23 for Loganlea trainer Robert Handyside.

After jumping well from box three, the daughter of Surf Lorian and Perfect Thrill (Hallucinate – Gorgas) worked her way to second early, chasing You Say So (2), who had opened up a handy break heading to the back.

Nala's Heart found plenty in the run home and finished strongly to overhaul You Say So and win by 1 1/4 lengths, with Super Vision a further two lengths away in third place.

The biggest upset of the three heats came in heat two when King Elliot (2) led all the way to claim some big scalps in the time of 30.26. The son of and Slick Candy ( – Cyclone Chrissy) speared the lids and as fate would have it, that was the end of the proverbial penny section.

Red-hot favourite Flash Reality (3) missed the jump and despite making his way to second place, managed to find enough trouble to end his winning chances.

The trained King Elliot showed the virtue of early speed and raced away via an unhampered run to score by 2 3/4 lengths. Angvella (5) was doing his best work at the end of the race to land second and Flash Reality picked himself up to grab third place.
