Hara’s Donny wins Preferential Box Draw Final at Capalaba

was the scene for Hara's Donny's victory in the Final on Sunday.

Hara's Donny built on his performance in the heats to take out the Preferential Box Draw Final at Capalaba on Sunday.

Last week he won his 366m heat out of the pink box, beating home Our Opals and Climb A Rainbow by 0.13 length.

He in a time of 19.57, the best of the heats.

In the fifth-grade final, the -trained chaser was sent out as a $1.30 favourite with top greyhound betting sites.

Out of box eight again, Hara's Donny used the alley perfectly as he beat home Hendy ($21) and Salieri ($3.90) by two and half lengths in a time of 19.71.

Formerly trained by , the x Hara's Flame dog has three wins and three placings from seven starts with Raines.

The trainer said she had not had the chance to see the race yet but that everybody had a soft spot for .

“Everybody does have a soft spot for Donny,” Raines said.

“My daughter works for Jemma (Daley) at her property helping with the dogs.

“Jemma rang me asked to take Hara's Tricky, and a couple of weeks later she asked if I would take over the care and training of Hara's Donny.

“I jumped at the chance.

“We are currently on holidays, so I haven't had a chance to watch the race yet.

“While we are away our dogs have been in the care of young Hayden Bloomfield, who has done a terrific job with the dogs and handled beautifully by Jemma herself.”

Hara's Donny has five wins and four placings from 10 starts racing exclusively over the 366m straight at Capalaba.
