Jungle King salutes for Hosking at Albion Park

Trainer had a win at on Sunday with saluting over 331m.

Jungle King bounced back into the winner's circle with a massive effort to salute at Albion Park on Sunday.

While his kennelmates Pebble's Girl and for the , it was the young and consistent Jungle King flying the flag for the kennel in Brisbane.

The Jamie Hosking-trained dog was sent out as race favourite, paying $2.15 with top greyhound bookmakers.

Out of box seven in the 331m contest, he went straight to the lead and put four lengths on the field as they swung the bend.

He went on to win by 5.25 lengths in front of Back Seat Betty ($8) and Quantum Blue ($5) while clocking 18.94, slashing his previous best of 19.10.

His last win was July 2 at Albion Park over the same 331m trip, beating home Paddy Hayze and Lock It In.

Trainer Hosking was happy with the improvement and indicated Jungle King would stay on the same path in southeast Queensland.

“Just going to keep working him through the grades,” he said.

“He is a nice young dog but just has a 50/50 rate of beginning at the moment.

“Hopefully he can master that, and he'll be very competitive going through the grades.”

The x dog has now had nine career starts, notching four wins and three placings.
