Hello Mike will look to say goodbye to the rest of the field in the Final at Albion Park on Thursday night.

Run over the 520m, the field is high quality with chances jumping from each and every box.

The Travis Elson-trained Hello Mike will jump from the inside box as he lines up for his 30th start, boasting a personal best of 29.49 over the trip.

Armed with a consistent record of 29: 10-4-5 and prize money of $308,620, the x Hay Cyndie progeny will look to return to the winner's circle after he was last seen saluting in February.

That last victory was a big one in the Group 1 Gold Bullion that saw him winning from the two box and beating home track-record holder over the 520m in Jay Is Jay (29.35) by 1.5 lengths.

The cherry box has been of mixed fortune of late for Hello Mike, with his two starts from the No.1 gate at Wentworth Park last month resulting in second-placings.

However, he has won from the inside twice over the Albion Park 520m.

“No luck with Mike last week at Rockhampton,” Elson said.

“But he has pulled up OK and back at Albion this week which he loves and out of the red which is good.

“He just needs to jump and he will be right in it.”

Standing in his way is Tomahawk Hayze (4), who has a best time over the distance of 29.62 and has one win from two starts from the draw.

The other strong opponent here is Blue Hornet – who, after a successful return to the straight last week, will be looking to remind everybody of the pace he is gifted with.

He broke the 520m record at Ipswich in February, running 29.83 to win by a thumping 11 lengths. With a time of 29.93 at Albion Park over the same distance, things are sure to get speedy here if he is given his chance from the middle alley.

The -trained dog by speedster will tilt for four straight with seven starts from box six for 2-1-1.
