Icy Eyes stares down opponents in Middle Distance Series

Icy Eyes stepped out for her first look at the Casino track and served up a lead-all-the way performance to win on Thursday afternoon.

The Selena Zammit-trained chaser started in the Middle Distance Series race over the 620m as a $1.50 chance with greyhound betting sites.

Jumping from box one, Icy Eyes got out to hit the lead and gave Run West ($14) something to chase in second place, as they approached the final bend.

In the home straight, Icy Eyes kicked away to win by 2.75 lengths ahead of Run West and Major Rust ($81) in 35.66 seconds.

Last time out, on September 4, Icy Eyes destroyed the field by 10 lengths at Albion Park when stepping up to the 600m distance.

On July 7, she finished runner-up in the Mick Byrne Memorial Final at Albion Park over the shorter 520m trip, 0.13 of a length being the winning Cyndie’s Cyndie.

Icy Eyes kicked off her career on June 7 in a 395m race at Albion Park, where she finished runner up behind Double Up Rose.

A week later, she ran the same track and trip but fell in running and did not complete the race but backed up again a fortnight later and saluted.

She would break her maiden on June 28, beating Logan Alpha by 5.25 lengths over the 520m journey at Albion Park.

The Flying Fired Up x Agame bitch has six wins and five placings from 14 career starts and has banked $43,690 in prize money.
