Jamberoo Julie Put Her Best Forward
Coonamble greyhound Jamberoo Julie returned to her best form in Dubbo RSL Stakes (400m) with a smart 23.38s win after leading all the way from box five.
Jamberoo Julie is trained by Boppa and Vicky Pickering for close friend and Coonamble carnival regular Mick Causely.
Favourite backers were left lamenting as $1.70 elect Ford Puzzle finished out of a place.
In the Dubbo Pet and Stock Feed Stakes (516m), Chloe Milne was another to take full advantage of the rails alley to easily score in 30.65s for Mudgee trainer Robbie Milne as the second select $2.50 – some punters picked up as good as $4.00. Atomic Girl at $2.50 was the favourite and finished sixth.
Punters were on the mark in the Committee Stakes (516m), a mixed grade event, when the heavily backed Intrepid Jet ($2.00) led all the way for Dubbo trainer Peter Dutton in 30.52s.
Intrepid Jet has now won both his starts over the 516m trip and could be well worth following in the weeks ahead.
Race favourite Game Keeping ($1.70) was put of play in a scrimmage at the first corner and finished last.
Mostly Hot at $1.60 favourite continued her current good form with an easy all the way 30.52s victory in the M and F Hallinan Rearing Stakes (516m) last race for Geurie trainer Norm Hardie.
