King To Reign Over The Gardens
Champion trainer Jason MacKay can continue his great winning run when he lines up two favourites at tonight's meeting at The Gardens.
The man labelled ‘The King of the Nationals', after winning three success National titles, will box Velocity Wind in race three, The Greyhound Record Stake and Big Bunga in the Tooheys New Stake, the sixth event on tonight's card. Both chasers are backing up after winning at The Gardens last Saturday night and are expected to repeat the dose this evening.
Velocity Wind ran 23.59, one of the fastest times ever recorded for the 413 metre circuit and kept her unbeaten record intact since being transferring to MacKay kennel. The daughter of Collision and Lankan Hope is a litter sister to one of the most exciting chasers in the country, Aliwishus Jones, who will be favourite to take out tomorrow night's Flying Amy Classic at Albion Park.
The locally owned, Big Bunga is building an imposing record, winning seven races from only 12 starts. The son of Melbourne Cup winner Hallucinate and Special Sauce could not have been more impressive last Saturday night, stopping the clock in a sizzling 29.66 for the 515 metres, with a massive winning margin of nine lengths.
