Mark Sure wins again at Rockhampton
set a new personal best at on Wednesday evening.

Mark Sure Can continues to set the standard at the Rockhampton 407m trip, making it 11 wins on the trot over the journey on Wednesday night.

The -trained chaser was sent to the boxes in the best-eight contest as the -400 race favourite with online bookmakers.

With Peta Boon-trained kennelmates Velocity Kayla and Velocity Nora both scratched, Mark Sure Can took advantage of the empty boxes on either side of him to get the perfect passage from the six gate.

Shooting out wide from box rise, he hit the lead early and never gave it up as he beat (+700) by 5.75 lengths in 23.27.

The run improved on his previous fastest time of 23.29, clocked when winning by six lengths from Rosa's Rita on October 11.

Trainer Pollard told Australian Racing Greyhound that she continues to be impressed by her star dog's performances.

“I'm just so impressed with his consistency,” she said.

“In being able to execute an amazing early split to put himself into his races.”

With the Australian record for consecutive wins standing at 17, set by Turbo Thomas in 2020, Pollard believes consistency is the key for her chaser's winning streak to continue.

“It's almost unimaginable to think he could win 11 straight,” she said.

“When I first got him, he'd been out of work for a while.

“His first trial for me was average in 24.08.

“My thoughts were we may win a couple.

“He has just kept on improving and consistently runs great times.

“I'm based three and a half hours away from the Rockhampton track, so we will see what future events may suit him there.”
