Melbourne Cup or Ipswich Cup next on agenda for Great Chase winner
2022 Group 3 Great Chase winner All Spritzed Up has justified his race favouritism and won the prestigious midweek final coming from behind in 29.88.
Last week All Spritzed Up was a clear standout from the Great Chase semi finals, winning his semi final in 29.72.
Coming in to today’s $47,000 to-the-winner final the only weakness was the Anthony Azzopardi-trained chaser’s early split. Having had his first hand-full of starts over the middle distance, it was only a matter of finding galloping room in running to win the Group 3 race.
Beginning well enough from box three, All Spritzed Up trailed early leader Like An Arrow before taking control late for what was an easy win in the end.

Prior to the race Azzopardi had flagged either the Ipswich Cup or Melbourne Cup as the dog’s next target.
The Melbourne Cup will now race on a Saturday night, the week after The Topgun as part of Greyhound Racing Victoria’s new Dream Chasers Festival.
Speaking to AustralianRacingGreyhound.com’s Josh Spasaro, Azzopardi said prior to the race, “we’ll be looking at the Melbourne Cup, or we might go to the Ipswich Cup with him.
“But in a Melbourne Cup nothing can go wrong”, he said.
Today’s win will give Azzopardi room to move with the owners as All Spritzed Up has now won over $73,000 and has had 11 starts for eight wins and two seconds.
The son of Ritza Lenny and All Dolled Up only turned two years of age on August 5 2022.
