Million Dollar Chase night sensation as trainer faces integrity inquiry

New South Wales (NSW) Greyhound Welfare and Commission () Inspector’s blocked a Million Dollar Chase (MDC) final night greyhound from racing after a vehicle inspection.

, trained by Robert Howard, was to have started in race four at Wentworth Park on MDC night, the final worth $25,000 to-the-winner.

But GWIC stewards scuttled those plans after a vehicle inspection of trainer Howard’s transport.

GWIC stewards refused to specify exactly what their inspectors found in the inspection, but Inspector Mr F Turner brought the matter to the attention of the racenight GWIC stewards.

GWIC stewards say they “opened an following a vehicle inspection of trainer Mr R Howard conducted by GWIC inspectors.”.

GWIC stewards took evidence from greyhound trainer Howard and the inspector.

Following that, they scratched Time To Go from the Young Star final and adjourned an inquiry into the matter to a date to be determined.

Time To Go is owned by Howard’s wife Natina, and has had 19 starts for seven wins and nine placings.

The daughter of and made the GRNSW Young Star final by winning her heat the week prior in 29.79.

Time To Go was the Howard’s only greyhound engaged on the 2023 Million Dollar Chase final night.

The MDC main race was won in brilliant fashion by Jay Is Jay.

In the race Time To Go was supposed to contest, Rocket Riot, aided by the vacant box, was a very impressive GRNSW Young Star winner.
