Miss Elly Mint Out Of Group 2 Ladies Bracelet Heats

Its been a tough week for the leading hopes in Australian greyhound racing over both the sprinting and staying journeys.

Hot on the heels of the news that upcoming Queensland stayer Shadow Boxer had gone a miss at his first trial in Victoria and would miss the Sandown Cup series, glamour NSW sprinter has now been reported injured as well.

Pre post favourite for the at this Saturday night, Miss Elly Mint was to have started from box seven in heat three of the $25,000 to the winner Ladies Bracelet.

However news from grading department suggest that trainer has had to scratch Miss Elly Mint from Saturday night's race due to injury. It was to have been Miss Elly Mint's second race since her determined second in the 2009 Golden Easter Egg and a brilliant 400m win at her last start.

First reserve Kelmatt's Creme will now take her place in box seven in in the third of the Ladies Bracelet heats.

** Update ** : Joanne Monelli Also Scratched From Ladies Bracelet

Following on from the shock scratching of Miss Elly Mint, another pre post favourite and recent star of the 2009 Group 1 Golden Easter Egg Series, Joanne Monelli has also been scratched from heat 1 of the Ladies Bracelet.

Joanne Monelli had only just been transferred to NSW trainer from her WA kennels and would have been a short priced favourite to take out her heat of the bitches only race from box 1. Second reserve Promises Nothing will start from the coveted iniside alley against Golden Easter Egg winner Dana Beatrice in box 8.

With 2 reserves now gaining runs only Evangelia is available to replace scratched greyhounds in heats 3 and 4 of the Ladies Bracelet. Any further toheats 1 and 2 will result in diminished fields.
