TRAINER believes 2018 Melbourne Cup winner My Reedemmer is in top order ahead of a tilt at the Group 1 Paws Of Thunder.

The son of Fernando Bale recorded his sixth win on the trot on December 29, spearing out early to win easily at the 600m trip at the Meadows.

Geall will now rest the Cup winner until the first of the Paws Of Thunder heats on January 12, with the final run and won a week later.

My Redeemer ($12) is on the fourth line of betting at online bookmaker Sportsbet to win the 2019 Paws Of Thunder.

“My Redeemer won over 600m at The Meadows on December 29 so he won't have another race before the Paws Of Thunder heats on January 12,” Geall said.

“After My Redeemer has a 600m race he performs really well at shorter distances, such as the 520m of , if he has a fortnight's break before resuming.”

The chaser has proved he is adept at chasing on the home state of Victoria, but My Redeemer's Sydney form is equally as impressive.

My Redeemer has won at , recording times of 29.64 and 29.67.
