Northern Rivers unveils thrilling new Greyhound Racing events

Greyhound has recently announced the introduction of two events in the Northern Rivers racing calendar, bringing more thrills to the lead-up of the highly regarded .

These events are set to feature thrilling heats and lucrative finals,` offering a prize of $25,000 for the greyhounds. The , a series covering a distance of 620 metres, will make its debut at .

The heats for this event are scheduled for Thursday, February 8th, with the grand finale taking place on Tuesday, February 13th.

On the other hand, will host The Clarence, which's a series covering a distance of 660 meters.

The heats for this event will take place on Sunday, February 18th, with the final happening on Sunday, February 25th. Both of these graded series warmly welcome nominations from top-quality greyhounds and also consider reserve greyhounds as contenders.

The winners of each heat will receive $4,000 as prize money.

As for the finals, the triumphant greyhound will claim the grand prize of $25,000.

They will also have the opportunity to win an additional $5,000 if they emerge victorious in both series. What adds allure to The Clarence is that its final serves as Graftons heat for the prestigious Ladbrokes Country Classic.

The top four finishers in The Clarence final will secure their spots in the semi-finals of the Country Classic, which are scheduled to take place on March 9th in .

The anticipated conclusion of the Ladbrokes Country Classic, which offers a prize pool of $125,000, is set to take place in Dubbo once again on March 16, 2024.
