Albion Park greyhound racing preview & tips – Thursday, 28/12/23
Albion Park is set to host a 12-race program on Thursday night from 6:19PM local time. The meeting is headlined by three heats of the QLD Futurity and five heats of the QLD Derby. The hottest youngsters in QLD will look to stave off an interstate raid from the likes of Vic Peters winner Zipping Remus and a strong support cast.
Race 6: King Of Aces (1)
King Of Aces heads into this race on the fresh side, having had seven weeks between runs. He was last seen flooding home over the 520m at Ipswich in the heat of the Gold Cup behind eventual winner Bear's Bullet. He ran fifth on this occasion and recorded a personal best run of 30.43. His best form to date has come over this 520m at Albion Park, where he has won four of his six starts, including a quick 29.54 personal best. Despite preferring a wide box, the cherry can often be the next best box, and he will be aided by having a vacant box directly outside him. If he can get through the first turn unscathed, he will be flashing over the top.

Race 1: Isle Of Rose (1)
Troy MacDonald will be aiming to win two age-restricted bitches races in as many weeks as the 2023 Laurels Classic winner, Isle Of Rose, lines up in the first heat of the QLD Futurity. She was a dominant all the way winner in a good 29.55, defeating Granny Roses. Since then, she has been transported to QLD. She trialled last Thursday over the 520m at Albion Park, recording a time of 30.42. Admittedly, this time doesn't stand out; however, it was an extremely wet track, which eventually resulted in the races being abandoned. She's unbeaten in three attempts from box one and will be aided by She Is Fire, and Mrs. Musgrave unlikely to crash towards the rails.

Race 5: Zipping Remus (3)
2023 Vic Peters winner Zipping Remus will be aiming to make another age and sex-restricted final. He returned from a three-month break, finishing sixth, beaten by Agland Luai in free-for-all company over the 520m at Wentworth Park. It might pay to be very forgiving of this effort, as he found plenty of bother on the first turn. Unlike his main market danger, Irinka Daniel, Zipping Remus has had two starts over track and trip-winning once in 30.17. Judging off his quick 29.33 Wentworth Park personal best, a run around 29.80 would not shock.
