NSW GWIC head office to remain in Bathurst
The Greyhound Welfare and Integrity Commission's (GWIC) Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Mr Steve Griffin has put an end to recent speculation and announced that GWIC's head office will remain in its current location in Bathurst.
Responding to media conjecture that GWIC's headquarters could relocate, Mr Griffin said: “I can confirm the Commission is not moving its head office from Bathurst”.
“The Commission has staff work from a number of offices across the state, and late last year the Commission conducted a review of its entire property portfolio to ensure that it reinforced its strategic plans for supporting, servicing and regulating the industry.
“Following this review, it was determined the Commission's head office will remain in Bathurst,” Mr Griffin said.
Since its establishment five years ago, the Greyhound Welfare and Integrity Commission has not only delivered on its mandate to establish greater oversight and enforcement of integrity and welfare standards in NSW but has also earned itself a national and international reputation as the preeminent leader within the global greyhound racing community.
The Commission's focus for 2024 will be on introducing new, innovative technology to ensure New South Wales continues to lead the way in terms of best practices in welfare and integrity in animal racing.
