NSW Start State Of Origin Match Race Favourites
The two greyhounds, named Harden Up Tommy (NSW) and Murri Yaxa (QLD) trialled at the Birth Of Origin launch last week, with Harden Up Tommy winning the time trial by .04 seconds.
The Birth Of Origin series boasts nine greyhound match races in Queensland and New South Wales between the two legends greyhounds to decide the best state.
The first race will kick off at the Birth Of Origin Lunch at Albion Park on June 3, the afternoon of the first State Of Origin game at Melbourne's Etihad Stadium.
Mr Raudonikis said Harden Up Tommy, aka Cattledog's, trial last week was just a warm up of things to come.
“Once again NSW dominated when it came to the crunch, a sign of things to come at Albion Park on June 3, and for the boys in Melbourne that night,” Mr Raudonikis said.
“She pulled up real well, and now just prepping for what will be an awesome race.”
Mr Beetson responded by saying you can train as well as you want, but game day is all the counts.
“It only counts when the whistle blows,” said Mr Beetson.
“You can train perfectly but you have to bring it out on game day, and that's what Murri Yaxa will be doing.”
Attendees at the Birth Of Origin Lunch will also be able to bid for a share in the two greyhounds, which are being syndicated by Houndications.
The Birth Of Origin Lunch will feature a gourmet barbecue buffet, the Birth Of Origin show by the two Origin legends, exclusive signed memorabilia auctions, and the first match race between Harden Up Tommy and Murri Yaxa.
The afternoon will also include a full 10-race greyhound racing program, starting at 3.30pm and concluding at 6.00pm. Patrons can then view the game over the road from Albion Park at the Breakfast Creek Hotel.
