Plum Tuckered headed to North Queensland Cup after QGOLD tilt
Plum Tuckered will be prepared for the Listed North Queensland Cup later in the month after a gritty runner-up performance on Tuesday night at Townsville.
Trainer Danny Preh told Australian Racing Greyhound that she will be pushed up to the 498m distance on the path to the heats for the $24,000 Listed race.
“I think we may go and have a few runs at the 498m,” he said.
“Get her on track for a go at the North Queensland Cup.”
Lining up as the $2.40 race favourite in the 380m QGOLD final on Tuesday night, Plum Tuckered finished three lengths behind the winning Mali’s Red Hot ($14).

While impressed with her runner-up performance, Preh said she remained luckless in feature finals.
“I get my girl to jump, and she still gets checked,” the trainer said.
“She was just unlucky again, and after the six (She’s Some Fox) wiped us out, she was so lucky not to have fallen.
“We are having no luck in these feature races, but still, second is better than nothing.”
The daughter of Fernando Bale and Crazy Bonnie has 12 wins and 12 placings from 39 career starts and has banked $49,670 in prize money.
The heats of the Listed North Queensland Cup are to be run on November 21 at Townsville, with the final a week later on November 28.
Last year’s edition was won by the Ken Boody-trained Zip Stream, beating Balt’s Orson by three-and-a-quarter lengths.
