Punters Can Winsome At The Gardens

The Gardens will today play host to the second round of the series, with the first two in each of four semi-finals qualifying for next ’s $20,000 to the winner final.

In the first semi-final, series favourite and fastest heat winner, Winsome Gun will be all the rage when he jumps from box eight. Last Saturday night, the beautifully bred son of Bombastic Shiraz and Winsome Silver ran a sensational 29.58, over two lengths faster than any other heat winner.

He is up against the two most impressive chasers from last week’s ‘beaten brigade’ in Rumble Missile and Winsome Shiraz. Rumble Missile chased home Winsome Gun, while Winsome Shiraz had no luck in her second placing behind He’s A Player.

The third qualifier is arguably the most even. Bobby Clavering was only beaten by a half a length in a 29.86 by quality youngster, Punishing, while the regally named, Sour Cream is another with a leading chance after his heat victory in 30 seconds dead.

In the last run-off, Bralyn Midge should dominate betting markets after the son of and Bralyn Maisie ran blistering early sectionals on his way to a 29.73 heat victory. Bralyn Midge is from an exceptional litter, with his brother, Bralyn County undefeated after eight starts, including his last two at .

The semi-finals are the four legs of today’s Quaddie at The Gardens, but there is also a great support card.

Race four is the Multicam Middle Distance Final over 600 metres, where the trained Odessa Shiraz will be a short priced favourite form box one. Race two, stake, is also an interest 600 metre event, with the clash of Emo Appeal, Rose Of Heather and last start Wentworth Park winner, Multicam Girl.

While in race three, the Transqual Logistic Training Stake, we see the clash of recent city winner Lukekely Magic with Proper Draught from the inform kennel. Cheetham won the Free For All event at The Gardens on Wednesday night with Proper Draught’s litter brother, New Divide.
