Red Dirt Road scratched from Topgun Stayers, Canya All Class in
The box draw for the 2024 Group 1 Topgun Stayers race is not due to be performed until Monday, November 4, 2024, but the race has already had it’s first withdrawal.
The elite fields of eight greyhounds for the Topgun and Topgun Stayers were only announced on Friday, and less than 24 hours later, Red Dirt Road has been withdrawn from the 2024 Topgun Stayers race.
Red Dirt Road’s trainer, Rob Britton, confirmed the greyhound had sustained an achilles strain in a trial and would likely be on the sidelines for more than three months.
Red Dirt Road’s withdrawal has paved the way for Canya All Class to move from first reserve in to the final eight for the $75,000 to-the-winner Group 1 race.
Canya Amy will now be the first reserve for the rich Group 1 730 metre invitational race at The Meadows.
Black Silencer has been added to field as second reserve.
