Richmond greyhound track closed for emergency works October 5 – 14
Greyhound Racing NSW (GRNSW) has announced that racing will be temporarily halted at the Richmond race track from October 5th to October 14th.
GRNSW had today advised participants that due to the need for immediate track renovations, racing at Richmond greyhound track will be for at least a week.
The last meeting before the work commences will be next Wednesday, October 4, with racing to resume at Richmond on Sunday, October 15, 2023.
The work will see a new track profile being installed with blended Bungendore sand.
The have been any complaints in the NSW greyhound industry about the state of the Richmond greyhound track, so the announcement of a fresh new racing surface will surely be welcomed.
The work on the track also allows for the opportunity to update and resurface the SafeChase lure rail and complete any additional remedial work at the venue.
In Richmond’s absence GRNSW has scheduled race meetings for their vacated slots.
On October 8 there will be meeting at Broken Hill, on October 9 a meeting will be held at Wagga, and on October 11, Dubbo will host a meeting.
