Dual group 1 winning greyhound set to resume at Cannington

Dual 1 champion greyhound Elite Machine is set to make his comeback to racing on Saturday night at Cannington.

's talented greyhound has been seen on the track since two failed runs at Cannington, immediately upon his return from the 2023 Group 1 Brisbane Cup victory.

Trainer Jamie Marsh is satisfied with Elite Machines preparation, although he acknowledges that the dog may not be in condition for his race back.

‘He has been performing well during his trial runs after his return but he might still need another week or so to reach his full potential,” Marsh shared regarding Elite Machines progress.

Although he triumphed in the Brisbane Cup after traveling to Queensland he faced defeat in two races at Cannington.

Trainer Marsh is concerned that a bad fall in the Winter Cup final in June may have affected the dog's confidence.

“While we always have that fall incident on our minds we are confident, in Elite Machines performance since returning to training.

“His trial runs have been flawless,” Marsh said.

Elie Machine, a son of Aussie Infrared and Pat's Lass, has won 22 of his 41 starts, and run a further 5ice placings.

Along with the 2023 Group 1 Brisbane Cup at Albion Park, Elite Machine also won the 2023 Group 1 at Cannington, the Listed Trophy, and ran third in the inaugural The Sandgroper at Cannington.

The Daniel Williams-owned brindle dog has won $1,045,830 in prizemoney for connections, and returns to racing in time for the upcoming Group 2 All Stars Sprint at Cannington, as well a potential trip to Victoria for the 2023 Group 1 at Sandown.
