Rob Andrews’ Casino Greyhounds Treble

Local trainer had a day to remember when he trained three winners on last Friday's twelve event card.

Highlighting the day no doubt, was the win of in the Casino Rural Traders distance stake. This much improved galloper led all of the way and recorded 35.81, bettering her run of last week by some five lengths.

She was also the Trainer's Jackpot dog, so as well as the $1000 first prize money, another $3010 jumped in.

Earlier, Smokes Liftin' won a heat of the Ab Casey Memorial when she took the lead in the back straight before running 27.74, and to top off the day Busy Dizzy made it two into this week's rich final for Rob, when she finished hard to take out her heat in 28.06. Rob is a great supporter of the Casino track, and certainly deserves his succcess.

In the other two heats of the Ab Casey Memorial, Allegro Charm overcame a tardy beginning to run out a two length victor in 27.70 for , and showed all of her customary early speed to run the best time of the day – 27.24. She won by 7 1/2 lengths for trainer Des Gilroy and owner Graham Johnson.

Brad Northfield wasn't that far behind in the trainer's stakes by landing a double. Proven performer had his first attempt over the distance and put in a strong performance to score. He was expected to lead, but had to do it hard in the early stages before reaching the premier position as they went into the back straight. Galloping boldly from that point, he outstayed Obsession and in the run to the line to win by 2 1/2 lengths in a very handy 35.59. Good old Kidatee Alf converted the double in leading all of the way in the Casino RSM Club Free For All. He was an all of the way winner in 27.51, and certainly has a liking for the Casino track where he has had fourteen of his sixteen successes.

Sobbing Princess gave Syd Scofield a welcome return to the winner's list when she went past the early leader at the top turn before taking out the opening event in 23.41, and Amy Rose High won her maiden in similar fashion clocking 23.38 for Trevor Thompson.

produced the fastest winner on the day when ran 22.79 in the Westlawn Finance sprint. Although heading towards three years of age, this speedster has had only fifteen starts because of a few injuries. Danial has got him right now, and he showed his full potential by closing in on Brad Rail's of 22.76.

The John Mc Grory trained Princess Sin appreciated being drawn nearer the rails when she led all of the way in 27.82, while 's Super Trump wrapped up the day's proceedings with a good win in the “lucky last” from box one.

The Final of the Ab Casey Memorial will highlight another strong program of racing this Friday afternoon.
