With the win, Transponder made it two wins from three starts at the South Australian city track, with the other being in his heat of the Adelaide Cup, beating home in 30.17.

The Adelaide Cup win marks the fifth for the Thompson family, previously winning with Hooked On Scotch (2019), (2016), (2009) and Whippy's Image (2008).

Transponder is a son of owner Amander Tullio's own stud dog, Delive, and the dam Unquestionably.

He took his record to 37 starts for 20 wins and 12 placings for $245,625 in prize money.

Online greyhound bookmakers have Transponder in their ‘all-in' markets as a +800 chance to win the Topgun on November 11.

His kennelmate is the current +200 favourite for the same $150,000-to-the-winner race.
