Trials To Resume At Albion Park
Consistent with a July 17th return to Albion Park, Greyhounds Queensland have announced today that The Brisbane Greyhound Racing Club will resume trials on Wednesday 9 July.
The first session of trials will be held from 8.45am on Wednesday 9 July and from 5.00pm on Friday 11 July. All trials will be hand-timed and all trials on these two days will be half price.
Bookings for Wednesday trials will be taken on Tuesday 8 July from 9.00am – 12.00pm. Bookings for Friday trials will be taken on Wednesday from 12.00pm – 3.00pm and Thursday from 9.00am – 12.00pm.
Greyhounds Queensland have earlier advised that works to relocate essential services from the Russ Hinze Stand are continuing, with a target date of Thursday 17 July for the completion of the work.
Importantly, the rescheduled heats of the Group One Garrards Winter Carnival Cup will proceed as planned on Thursday 17 July, with nominations closing with Greyhounds Queensland at 8.30am Monday 14 July. On the 17th, the Pacesetters Bar will be open for patrons with tote and bookmaker facilities in operation.
Mr Darren Beavis, Greyhounds Queensland General Manger, has said that “should the temporary structure housing essential services not be completed in time for fit-out by 17 July, the Brisbane Greyhound Racing Club have put in place a contingency plan to ensure that essential services, such as the Finish Lynx system, lure driver, race caller and Sky Channel coverage are operational for the race meeting.”
