Talented youngster Writ Large remains undefeated after taking out the Sam Ensby Memorial final at Casino on Thursday.

Writ Large’s fifth-grade victory took her record to four wins from four starts after upsetting a more fancied field in the decider.

Even after a strong showing in her heat win, Writ Large started the final as second favourite at $4.60 with top greyhound bookmakers.

After jumping from box six, Writ Large went on to win the Sam Ensby Memorial by five lengths in front of Fawn All Over ($8.50) and Kooringa Ash ($5.50) in a time of 23.42, faster than her heat time.

Last week Writ Large won her heat with a dominant performance in a time of 23.53, starting at a price of $9.50 before box rise. The Brad Northfield-trained bitch defeated Wish Come True ($21), Kingsbrae Smokey ($5.50) and the heat favourite Jimary Texas, who jumped at $1.90.

The Zambora Brockie x Lombardy chaser has now won all four of her starts with two at Ipswich over the 288m, before her past two starts over the Casino 411m trip.

Trainer Northfield was impressed with how she was performing and said he was not certain of what was next.

“[I am] Very happy with how she’s going,” he said.

“We raced in Queensland to get the breeders bonus, something we need introduced in NSW.

“This race was a 1-3 win series that suited us.

“Not sure what’s next, we may have a look at Albion the next week or two.”
