Vegas bound dazzles in Ipswich Auction semi-final

VEGAS Bound is to beat in next weekend's $40,000 to the winner Group 2 Ipswich Auction series final after a stunning victory in her semi-final on Saturday night.

Beginning identically to how she stepped in her heat the week prior, the white and black bitch was last away from box eight but showed brilliant acceleration to circle around the outside and slip into midfield around the first turn.

Down the back and the -trained chaser set off after the leader, Royal Prize, levelling up on the home turn before exploding clear to score by three and three quarter lengths in a sizzling 30.35.

The daughter of Head Bound and Tina's Show, now a winner of eight of her 25 starts, defeated the fast finishing Legacy Chief, with Royal Prize tiring to finish third.

The second and final semi was a one act affair, with Donald Massey's Magical Yessam jumping swiftly from box seven and leading all the way. The only main threat came from Magic Beau which raced on the leaders heels through the first turn, however the leader was able to kick clear to score by five and three quarter lengths in 30.58.

Magic Beau stuck on well to finish second, with Winsmit finishing further back in third spot.

The son of and Kiewa Show has now won 13 of his 31 career starts with a further nine minor placings.

If I was a bookie I’d lay Vegas Bound all night, will be around evens and is a big risk from the draw the 7 will lead clearly and be very hard to beat.
