Vencedor makes it five in a row at The Gardens 400m trip
Track record holder Vencedor claimed his fifth consecutive win on Thursday afternoon at The Gardens.
The Chrystal Hensing-trained chaser was sent out as the -111.11 race favourite in the 400m contest with top greyhound bookmakers.
Jumping from box five, he got out to sit second behind Laurie’s Alonso (+230) before storming over the top of the leader in the straight to win by three-quarters of a length in 22.72.

Trainer Hensing was impressed with the performance, telling Australian Racing Greyhound that it was a clear career highlight for her dog.
“I think that was his best win yet,” she said.
“He fought hard, and track was very heavy as it was only turned on the Sunday.”
Vencedor, who clocked the current track record of 22.29 on May 13 last year, now has 17 wins and six placings from 26 starts over the 400m trip at The Gardens.
