Youngster Cash Master sets new track record for Grafton greyhounds 350m
Young greyhound Cash Master has produced the best run of his short career to break the Grafton 350m track record on Sunday October 16 2022.
The veteran of just six starts, was racing in a 1-3 win final having qualified for the final with a 4.06, 19.80 win the week prior from box seven.
Drawn box seven again for yesterday's final, Cash Master ran an identical 4.06 first sectional split but this time powered home to win in new track record figures of 19.64.
The Robert Cooke-trained greyhound shaved 0.01 off the previous record of 19.65 held by Orson Laurie.
Cash Master has now won three races from six career starts and is to be unplaced having run three placings.
While the track record time won't add any prizemoney to the son of Aston Dee Bee and Cashpot's modest total of $8,170; it certainly won't do his value or reputation any harm.
Coincidentally Cash Master's track record win came in race three on the day and the previous record holder Orson Laurie won the race prior, albeit in a slower 19.75.
