Westerlo And Black Hummer Dominate Coursing

Another great day was conducted by the at the Coursing Club. The weather was good for coursing and there were many close courses.

John and had a good day with starting to amass points towards the Coursing . Black Hummer won the feature event, the GOTBA Trophy and his kennel mate (as his name suggests, his nose is enormous) is also making a good account of himself contesting and winning his second stake this season. If “Laurie” is ever in a close course, you can bet he’ll win by a nose.

Shane Jack from Dalmore won the puppy bitch with Butterfly and made the long trip from Portland a successful one, seeing her dog puppy King’s Wizard successful and with her other charge Santosa’s Rose running up to Nose Like Laurie.

Telephone Cilla won her maiden bitch stake for Bert Borschmann and Kingston Belle broke her maiden status for the Moore family from Rowville. Hillbilly Jack did his best for Maureen and Kevin Turner of Corio, winning his maiden event as did Coyote Gold for the Perry’s of Neerim South. Where’s Freddo won his maiden for the Meyer’s family of Hopper Crossing.

This week there were two of the Two Course Puppy Stakes conducted; these stakes are specially designed for the puppies. The winner and runner up have only two courses for the day, rather than the usual three. Granny Clampett won the Two Course Bitch Puppy Stake and Pure Ethynol won the Two Course Dog Puppy Stake. Remember puppies that have won puppy stakes, can contest puppy stakes again and again. It is not like a maiden status where you can win your maiden only once.

This was a very successful day, and both the GOTBA and Lang Lang Coursing Club should be thanked. Our nominations were excellent for this meeting, 107 in all. So if you didn’t gain a run this week, nominate again next week as we are back at Lang Lang to contest the Lang Lang Football Club Cup. Nominations close with GRV at 9.00 am on Thursday 25th June.
