Adam Whitmore took the training honours on the day with a double. Refusal was his first winner when she railed through near home to get up by 1 1/4 lengths in 28.03 in the Mc Donald's Pharmacy maiden, while also never left the fence in taking out the distance race. The Steve Kavanagh trained galloper clocked 27.28 in getting home by a half length. Neville Robson's Allegro Charm was the runner up, and a win for her is not far away.

Hospital bound would have felt a little better when She Rose Hi won the Charcoal Inn stake in 27.80, and Glam Slam gave Faye Currey a welcome change of luck when she won the Casino Rural Traders maiden. She also was a leader, and held on to win in 23.54.
