Angle Park introduces Tuesday night greyhound racing

South Australia Greyhound News

Greyhound Racing South Australia () is excited to share the news about the addition of Tuesday night racing at starting on Tuesday, May 14, 2024.

This new initiative aims to meet the rising demand for racing opportunities, especially for greyhounds in South Australia.

The Tuesday night races will feature time-graded competitions consisting of 10 races with six dog fields each.

These events will run alongside the existing Saturday morning races focusing on greyhounds of lower classes.

It's worth noting that both race meetings will be limited to a distance of 342 meters.

In response to an overflow of nominations for Saturday morning races, the Tuesday meetings will offer a platform for greyhounds that were nominated but didn't get a chance to start.

These dogs falling under this category will have priority if they are nominated for the following Tuesday night race.

Moreover, in order to maintain a rounded racing schedule, opportunities for 530 metre time-graded greyhounds will be included on race dates at Angle Park other than Saturday or Tuesday.

Nominations for the Tuesday night gathering close at 9:00 AM SA time on the before the event with GRSA, and the races will kick off around 6:00 PM SA time.

These adjustments aim to elevate the racing experience for greyhounds, trainers and fans of SA greyhound racing.
