Angle Park Tuesday night meeting delayed due to unspecificied reasons by GRSA
Embattled Greyhound Racing South Australia (GRSA) have announced that the proposed Tuesday night meetings scheduled for Angle Park will no longer be going ahead for the foreseeable future.
GRSA are under the national spotlight after ant-racing activists recorded illegal footage of a number of person acting contrary to the rules of racing and human decency, allegedly on the Murray Bridge licensed kennel property of Lisa and Tony Rasmussen.
After initially condemning the action seen on the footage, GRSA have since announced multiple charges against two persons allegedly involved in the mistreatment of greyhounds, but refused to name the persons involved.
The shocking vision has been a huge boost for anti-racing activists who had already been targeting SA greyhound racing, with the uncovered abuse to be the catalyst for a SA Government inquiry in to greyhound racing.
The terms of reference for the inquiry are yet to be specified, but greyhound racing fans will remember only to well how anti-racing activists abused the processes of the NSW Government inquiry, to make incredible and totally fictitious submissions which were accepted as credible and fact by the inquiry.
The NSW Government inquiry led to NSW Premier Mike Baird announcing the NSW greyhound ban; an errant decision that ultimately led to the demise of himself, his party, and the National Party leader and Deputy Premier Troy Grant.
In the face of the impending inquiry and fallout from the Murray Bridge incident, GRSA has elected not to pursue Tuesday night racing at Angle Park.
A GRSA spokesperson said, “Due to a number of factors including resourcing, the commencement of the Tuesday night meetings at Angle Park in August will be postponed for a period of time.
“GRSA will provide more information on future dates in due course.”
