Aston Olenna brings up 30th career win at Murray Bridge
Aston Olenna notched up his 30th career win as he saluted down the Murray Bridge straight on Tuesday afternoon.
The Dave Peckham-trained chaser lined up as favourite in the 300m race, paying -125 with online greyhound bookmakers.
Jumping out of box four, he came out in the centre of the track just behind the leader, Up There Billy (+1300).
Aston Olenna then cut out deep to angle up and storm over the top of the leader in the shadows of the post, edging out Up There Billy and My Reason (+900) by a length in a time of 16.53.
Last time out, on September 7, he ran second behind Nineteen Crimes over the 390m journey at Warrnambool.
Prior to that, he had back-to-back wins over the Murray Bridge 300m trip on August 15 and August 23.
Aston Olenna kicked off his career with back-to-back wins at the Mount Gambier 305m trip, cracking his maiden in January 2021 when he beat home Sianna Magic by one and a half lengths.
His strike rate for placings is an impressive 83%, having only gone unplaced three times in his past 18 starts.
The Aston Bolero x Aston Selena dog has made the podium 44 times from 53 career starts and has banked $43,140 in prize money for connections.
